Survey finds 80 percent of organizations are working with or planning to work with big data
Big data is about knowing your tools, Jeff Aden, founder of managed public cloud provider 2nd Watch, has told Channelnomics.
On Thursday, 2nd Watch released its 2015 Big Data Survey of 500 U.S. Telecommunications and business executives, which found that 60 percent of organizations are working with big data, and 20 percent will soon start a big data project.
Despite these numbers, there are some inhibitors to companies adopting big data, Aden said.
“Part of the inhibitors to big data in the general sense of the term is technology departments couldn’t keep up,” he toldChannelnomics. “They can’t just buy and build a datacenter at the rate to support the business in trying to understand the different sources of data structured and unstructured in order to enhance the customer experience.”
